Thanksgiving becomes more precious to me every year. The past three years I have spent Thanksgiving in a foreign country. In 2004, I spent the holiday in Mexico on my trip with Operation Renewed Hope. I am thankful for the doors of service that that Thanksgiving opened. In 2005, I spent the holiday in Nias, Indonesia in a little village in the mountains. It took 2-3 hours to hike through rice patties and jungle to get to the clinic site. We were the first people who had come in many, many years to see to the physical needs of these people. They were very open to ALL that we had to offer. The meal that day as a beef and macaroni MRE and fresh pineapple. It was shared with precious friends who love to serve as I do. This year, the holiday finds me in China once again serving with precious people. We were able to have many friends to visit with us and the food was phenomenal.
